Self-set passion-project brief:

• ~2mins of hand-drawn, traditional 2D animation for the song 'Cadillac (A Pimp's Anthem)' - from the 2023 album 'Jaguar ||' by Victoria Monét.

• True to the artist's style, the animation will be heavily influenced by the 70s.

Practicing synesthesia, my aim with this project is to translate the images I picture when listening to this song, into a nostalgic 2D animation - which includes a number of 'Victoria Monét-isms' such as jaguars.

Of course, the music will also be visually represented through animations which are timed to various beats/melodies of the song.

All frames will be hand-drawn on Procreate, in the traditional 20th-century cartoon animation style.

12fps will be used not only to achieve the vintage look, but also to maximise the project feasibility as it's a solo project.

Sequences will be collated/finalised in ToonSquid.
